You will be taking calls from people with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions, using skilled communication to assess their condition. You will use a computer-based clinical decision system and your own clinical knowledge and expertise to determine the best course of action that will range from offering advice on self-care or referring on to other services including emergency services.
Minimum 16 hours per week (fixed pattern). As we are a 24/7 service we have a variety of rota patterns covering days, evenings and overnights with a requirement to work certain weekend shifts
Working from home or on-site at one of our contact centres in Welwyn Garden City, Peterborough or Bedford
An opportunity to work additional hours above contract to increase income potential
Clinical Core Module One (all in classroom – x1 exam and call audits)
Supervised Practice - Combination of daytime, evening and weekend shifts in the Contact Centre
Consolidated Shifts (working as a Clinical Advisor)
Clinical Core Module Two (two-day classroom session with exam)
All consolidation shifts are in the Contact Centre post qualifications, home working will be possible thereafter on completion of 4-6 months in the Contact Centre post assessment and competency standards achieved.
PATHWAYS TRAINED CLINICAL ADVISOR:
If you are trained up to the current release (Release 27) then you can expect the following (dependent on the system you have used):
Common Learning, systems training, supervised practice and call audits - Combination of classroom and working in the Contact Centre
Working as a Clinical Advisor (this timetable is dependent on the Clinical Advisor and how you get on in week 1)
If you are not trained to current release (Release 27) or haven’t worked as Clinical Advisor in the last six months, we could offer you a bespoke training package to get to the correct level. Fully qualified Clinical Advisors will only need to come to their nearest HUC Contact Centre for 1 or 2 days to do a Trial and Assessment Shift. If you pass this Assessment we will provide you with an IT kit so you can commence working from home.
